Monthly use
Heartworms are transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Monthly prevention is described as eliminating susceptible immature larvae acquired during the preceding month before they develop into adult heartworms.
Give the tablet on the same date each month. Oral use, or crushed into food only when the product directions permit it. Do not substitute strengths or divide tablets unless the label or a veterinarian expressly allows it.
Test first: Dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before prevention starts. These tablets do not eliminate established adult heartworms. Contact a veterinarian if status is unknown or monthly use has been interrupted.
Dogs only. Do not use in puppies younger than six weeks of age. Not for human use. Seek veterinary help if vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, incoordination, tremors, or other unusual signs occur after a dose.
